‘Tree of Eden’

In 2009 a club member was given some pieces of a Cherry tree which had been cut down in Brough Sowerby, near Kirkby Stephen.

In the spring of 2010, after nearly a year under cover, the timber was cut up into smaller pieces. Members of the Eden Valley Woodturners club were then invited to take some of the wood and turn whatever they wanted from it. The timber was still very wet and this did cause a few problems.

The results of the project are shown here in this display.

The members who have taken part have varying amounts of experience, some have been woodturning for many years, while others are less experienced.
